Like a book that reveals nothing more from the outside than its title and name, the self-contained and understated new building stands opposite the Schiller National Museum. Only once inside does the building allow visitors to explore the museum on multiple levels. Various pathways lead through the building, allowing for a high degree of flexibility in the layout of both permanent and temporary exhibitions. The walls of the exhibition spaces serve as display cases that protect and preserve the objects while also allowing visitors to interact with them, thereby altering their arrangement within the rooms.
