Cuts
The renovation of the apartment and the conversion of the attic create a break with the Gründerzeit architecture. Clearly defined spatial elements—such as the kitchen cube, the sky ladder, the glass cube, the terrace, and the studio—set themselves apart from the existing structures and create new spatial experiences.
Excerpts
An excerpt of the site’s materiality is transported into the Gründerzeit architecture of the exhibition spaces and rearranged. Selected photographs complete the collage, forming a single image. The fragments of the image that take shape in visitors’ minds can be verified and pieced together during a site visit.
