January 15 through February 21, 2026

The exhibition “Next Stop” presents recent transportation infrastructure projects by Gruber + Popp Architects BDA. Against the backdrop of climate policy goals and the need to modernize infrastructure, it demonstrates how architecture can contribute to the mobility transition. Using subway stations, tram depots, and bus terminals in four major German cities as examples, the exhibition illustrates architectural strategies for infrastructure that serves the public good and is climate-resilient—ranging from subway stations for autonomous trains to the heritage-sensitive transformation of historic stations, to energy-generating mobility hubs for subways, buses, and private vehicles. Recyclable structures, modular systems, and principles of robustness, repair, and reuse are addressed, as is the identity-forming power of architectural design. The exhibition invites visitors to view mobility architecture not merely as functional infrastructure, but as defining spaces of a sustainable, social city.
