Following the renovation of its facade, the Märkische Gymnasium now presents a completely new look. Warm, inviting, and highly visible from a distance, the deep golden-yellow frames trace the building’s internal structure. The layout of the classrooms and auxiliary rooms is reflected in the facade. The profiled parapets create a lively contrast. The profiling of the parapet elements, made of light anthracite homogeneous infrared lightweight concrete (ILC 600), meets the thermal requirements of the existing structure. Weather-controlled louvered windows, in combination with fans, provide nighttime cooling in the summer.
