YEAR: 1998
Grünheide’s structure follows the pattern of villages in the Mark, which are primarily shaped by the surrounding natural landscape. The houses stand like islands in the forest and cluster together to form the village. The challenge of this project is to create a town center within this context. The basic concept of the design is to integrate the town hall into this structure, just like all the other buildings, and to build it as yet another island in the forest.
